Skin Care Products
What is in your skin care products?
Here at Momma’s Home, we feel strongly that everyone should know exactly what is in the products they put on their skin. We create our products with only the best ingredients and want our consumers to know why we chose each ingredient. Please see our Ingredients page for specific information about each ingredient.

How do I use the serums?
They are very easy to use! After cleansing, apply a small amount of the serum directly on skin and massage in. After “feeding your skin,” continue your normal skincare routine. Many people report needing less moisturizer and foundation after using our face serums.

How long will the skin care products last?
The face, hair, and body serums typically last a month or two with daily use. The larger (4oz) body serum should last twice that.

The small size mask contains approximately 25 “servings” and the larger approximately 50.

The bath salts vary in “servings” based on the size of your tub and the desired strength of the scent.

I have sensitive skin. Can I use your skin care products?
Most likely. Momma herself has sensitive skin and tests all of the products herself. Be aware that these are natural products so if you have specific allergies to an ingredient, you should avoid that product.

Do you test on animals?
The only animals our products are tested on are family and friends!

Handmade Soap

What is in your soap?
We use only natural ingredients in our soaps. We use a base recipe of Olive, Coconut, Palm Kernel, and Castor oils. Water and Lye are added to these oils to create the chemical reaction that turns this all into soap. All of the lye is changed to soap during the reaction, so there is none left in the bars you purchase. Jojoba oil is also added to our soaps after the chemical reaction has started so that there is extra oil that is not turned into soap. This is called superfatting the recipe and leaves the extra oil available to help moisturize your skin.

We also add cocoa butter and Shea butter to some of the soaps for extra moisturizing. Essential oils are also added to scent the soaps.

What is the white stuff on the top of your soap?
Sometimes, you may notice white “stuff“ on the top of some of our soaps. This is a harmless substance called “soda ash” that sometimes forms when air reaches a batch of soap in the first 24 hours after it is made. It seems to appear mostly on our peppermint soaps and on batches made on especially humid days. Again, it is harmless and will rinse off the first or second time you use the soap.

How long will the soap last?
A bar should last about 3 to 4 weeks. However, if you can’t get enough of the wonderful scents and great lather, your experience may vary. The best thing you can do to extend the life of your bar is to let it dry out between uses by keeping it out of standing water when you are not using it. The best soap holders have ridges and a way for the water to drain out.

We can make special orders. There will be a 4-6 week wait time to allow the special order bars time to cure. Please call or email to learn the details.

Can I order over the phone?
Yes! Please call (616) 951-1397 to talk to Momma and place an order.

Can I order by email?
Yes. Please email your order to momma@mommashome.com. We will email you a PayPal payment request and send your order after payment is received.

Do I need to create an account to place an order?
No, but an account allows you to track your future orders, checkout faster, and sync your favorites.

What payment methods are available online?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Paypal.

Shipping and Returns

When will my order be shipped?
While we try to ship your order as soon as we receive it, we guarantee that your order will be shipped within three business days.

What is your return policy?
If there is a problem with your order, please contact us before you return the item. If we have made a mistake in what we shipped to you, we will pay to return the items and send you the correct order. Please be aware that unscented does not mean “scentless.” Our unscented products will carry the natural scents of the oils in each recipe.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do now?
Please call us at (616) 951-1397 or email momma@mommashome.com and we will work out arrangements for the exchange of the damaged product.

I received my order as a gift. Can I exchange it?
Of course. We want you to have a product that you will enjoy. Please contact us for instructions on how to exchange unopened/unused products.
